Recently, the signing ceremony for the donation of the Yuanzhu Belt and Road Pioneer Scholarship has been held at KoGuan School of Law. The Yuanzhu Belt and Road Pioneer Scholarship is generously funded by Yuanzhu Law Firm, led by its founder and director, Mr. Chen Chuyu. As an alumnus (Class 2007) of the KoGuan School of Law, Mr. Chen establishes this scholarship to attract and encourage youth from China and Belt and Road Initiative countries to engage in mutual learning and exchange, fostering deeper connections between people.

The Yuanzhu Belt and Road Pioneer Scholarship aims to support full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students at KoGuan School of Law pursuing overseas studies in Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. It also provides funding for aspiring students from BRI nations to undertake master’s or doctoral studies at the KoGuan School of Law. The scholarship offers a structured reward system, with one first-prize recipient awarded RMB 50,000, one second-prize recipient receiving RMB 30,000, and two third-prize recipients granted RMB 10,000 each. Eligible applicants must meet specific academic and language requirements. The scholarship will be distributed in three installments via bank transfer. Throughout the award period, recipients are expected to maintain exemplary conduct, otherwise, the KoGuan School of Law reserves the right to suspend or revoke the scholarship.

The scholarship is designed to enhance the KoGuan School of Law’s recruitment of exceptional students while complementing existing funding mechanisms such as the China Scholarship Council (CSC), Shanghai Government Scholarship, and SJTU Scholarships. By filling a critical gap for self-funded students, this initiative establishes a comprehensive support system that ensures financial accessibility for all admitted students. Notably, this marks the first scholarship at the KoGuan School of Law dedicated exclusively to international students, reinforcing the school’s commitment to fostering a globally diverse and inclusive academic environment.
