
Recently, a delegation led by Professor Peng Chengxin, Dean of the KoGuan School of Law at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, went to Europe, paying official visits to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Netherlands and international organizations including the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). The visit focused on cultivating foreign-related rule-of-law talent, cutting-edge international law research, and expanding international cooperation, representing a major initiative by the School to engage with high-end global rule-of-law platforms and enhance its international influence.
Members of the KoGuan School of Law delegation engaged in discussions with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Netherlands and the Chinese Delegation to the OPCW.
The KoGuan School of Law delegation met with Mr. Li Hong, Director of the External Relations Division of the OPCW. Established in 1997 and headquartered in The Hague, the OPCW oversees the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and coordinates the global destruction and verification of chemical weapons.
The KoGuan School of Law delegation held talks with ITLOS President Tomas Heidar, among others. The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), located in Hamburg, was established under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and specializes in resolving maritime disputes such as maritime delimitation and resource exploitation.
The KoGuan School of Law delegation visited the International Court of Justice(ICJ)and the International Criminal Court(ICC).
