Delegation from Business School of China University of Political Science and Law Visits KoGuan School of Law to Discuss Cultivating Legal Professionals for Foreign-Related Rule of Law

On the morning of April 17, a delegation from the Business School of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) visited KoGuan School of Law, Shanghai Jiao Tong University to engage in discussions and knowledge-sharing on the cultivation of legal professionals for foreign-related rule of law.

Participants in the discussion included Professor Shang Wenjiang, member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Dean of CUPL Business School; Associate Professor Gu Fan, Chair of the Business Administration Department at CUPL Business School; Associate Professor Hu Lifang, Deputy Chair of the Capital Finance Department; Associate Professor Zhou Yifan from the Institute of Foreign-Related Rule of Law; Di Qing, Partner at Guantao (Shanghai) Law Firm; Professor Peng Chengxin, Dean of KoGuan School of Law; Professor Lin Xifen, Associate Dean; Professor Guo Yanjun, Associate Dean; Associate Professor Zhang Guobin, Assistant to the Dean; and heads of relevant administrative departments from KoGuan School of Law.

Peng Chengxin, on behalf of KoGuan School of Law, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the Business School of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and introduced the school's historical development and achievements. He noted that leveraging the comprehensive disciplinary strengths of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, KoGuan School of Law has in recent years continuously deepened its strategic focus in areas such as foreign-related rule of law and the cultivation of talents for international organizations. Facing the country's growing demand for high-level legal professionals in foreign-related rule of law, the school recognizes the significant responsibility it bears and looks forward to in-depth exchanges with the CUPL Business School to jointly explore innovative frameworks and collaborative mechanisms for talent cultivation.

Shang Wenjiang expressed gratitude for the warm reception from KoGuan School of Law and commended the school's achievements in foreign-related rule of law education. In the current era of globalization, Chinese enterprises face legal and practical business challenges as they "go global." Against this backdrop, Shang Wenjiang offered an in-depth analysis of the urgent need for interdisciplinary talents who are well-versed in international rules while also possessing business acumen and practical skills. He pointed out that cultivating legal professionals for foreign-related rule of law requires breaking down disciplinary boundaries and promoting the deep integration of "law" and "business", so that talent cultivation is closely aligned with national strategies and industrial development. He expressed the hope that the two schools could cooperate in areas such as curriculum development and joint research, jointly building a platform for cultivating internationally oriented legal professionals.

During the meeting, the participants from both sides exchanged views on topics such as talent cultivation and international exchanges. They agreed that, in the context of advancing the rule of law in all respects, deepening the interdisciplinary integration of law and business is of great significance for cultivating high-level legal professionals who are competent for international competition and cooperation, and who possess both a strong sense of national commitment and a global vision.

This exchange further deepened the mutual understanding between the two schools. Both sides will maintain close communication and work together to follow through on their cooperation initiatives, joining efforts to serve national strategic needs and cultivate outstanding legal professionals for foreign-related rule of law.
