
Recently, the 21st session of the "International Rule of Law and Global Governance Series Lectures" was successfully held in Room 203 of the KoGuan School of Law, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The lecture, titled "Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) and the Latest Developments in Its Jurisdiction Project," featured Professor Keisuke Takeshita, Dean of the School of Law at Hitotsubashi University in Japan, as the distinguished speaker. The event was hosted by Professor Hu Jiaxiang of KoGuan School of Law.
During the lecture, Professor Takeshita first reviewed the historical development of the Hague Conference on Private International Law, highlighting its significant role in promoting the unification of civil and commercial rules worldwide. He then elaborated on aspects such as rules governing parallel proceedings, related case rules, and judicial assistance rules. Finally, drawing on his extensive practical experience, Professor Takeshita systematically introduced the latest discussions and institutional designs regarding the coordination mechanism of judicial jurisdiction in the international community.
The lecture deepened the understanding of global judicial jurisdiction coordination mechanisms and provided valuable insights for shaping China’s stance and fostering institutional innovation in future negotiations on related international rules. The event concluded amid warm applause.
