The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is one of the most significant moot court competitions in private international law. It has been held for 30 consecutive years since 1993, attracting hundreds of top law schools from around the world. Prior to the Vienna Global Round and the Hong Kong Round in the Far East Region, multiple Pre-Moot events are held worldwide as warm-up competitions. Among them, Moot Shanghai, jointly organized by the Shanghai Arbitration Commission and the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, is one of the most important events.

The 14th Moot Shanghai International Mock Commercial Arbitration Invitational officially kicked off on March 4, 2024, running from March 4 to 7 in Shanghai. Teams from six countries including China, Singapore, U.S., Brazil, Netherlands, and Russia participated in this event. Chinese teams were from top universities including Wuhan University, Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, and East China University of Political Science and Law. Foreign participants included Russia National Research University Higher School of Economics, Singapore Management University, and Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo from Brazil.

On March 4, the SJTU team competed in the first day of the round-robin matches against the champion National University of Singapore and Dalian Maritime University, both finalists in the 21st "Trade Arbitration Cup", at the Shengzhi Law Firm. On March 5, the second day of the round-robin, the SJTU team faced Xiamen University and Shanghai University of Political Science and Law at the Jincheng Tongda Law Firm . In the end, the Shanghai Jiao Tong University team achieved the top ranking in China and the fifth globally in the overall score. 

Based on this competition, the SJTU Vis team not only engaged in intellectual collisions with representatives from top international law schools but also further demonstrated the talent and professionalism of KoGuan School of Law to the global world.
