Koguan School of Law Visits National University of Singapore Faculty of Law and Singapore Management University School of Law

In a bid to further advance the internationalization of the school and strengthen exchanges and collaborations with world-class law faculties, promoting the development of legal talents with an international perspective, a delegation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Koguan School of Law, led by Professor Peng Chengxin, the Dean, visited the Faculty of Law at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the School of Law at Singapore Management University (SMU) on December 11th. The delegation included Professor Guo Yanjun, Vice Dean, Associate Professor He Juan, Assistant to the Dean, and Zhang Chenxi from the Office of Party and Government Affairs.

On December 11th, the delegation arrived at NUS Faculty of Law, engaging in fruitful discussions with Professor Andrew Simester, the Dean of NUS Faculty of Law, Professor Arif A Jamal, Vice Dean responsible for graduate teaching, and Professor Tan Cheng Han, Chief Strategy Officer. Both parties showcased notable achievements in academic research, student development, international cooperation, and cultural exchange. Preliminary consensus was reached on cooperation in undergraduate student exchange programs, seamless transition from bachelor's to master's programs, academic research, and more. Both sides expressed the hope that this meeting would serve as a catalyst for future collaboration, laying a solid foundation for initiatives such as establishing Koguan special scholarships, promoting student exchange programs, exploring summer projects, enhancing faculty visits, and fostering deep collaboration in academic endeavors.

The delegation also visited SMU School of Law, where they were warmly welcomed by Professor Lee Pey Woan, the Dean of SMU School of Law, and Professor Zhang Wei, Vice Dean responsible for teaching and international cooperation. They provided an overview of SMU School of Law's internationalization efforts, external collaborations, talent development, and employment initiatives. Dean Peng Chengxin shared the recent breakthroughs achieved by Koguan School of Law and engaged in in-depth discussions with SMU School of Law on topics such as master's program development, summer camps, and faculty exchanges. Multiple agreements and specific intentions for collaboration were reached. Following the meetings, the delegation visited representatives of the Singapore alumni, bringing the warmth and greetings from the home institution and expressing anticipation for regular visits from the alumni.
