Chen Lei, Distinguished Visiting Professor of KoGuan School of Law, Elected Member of Academia Europaea

Recently, Chen Lei, Distinguished Visiting Professor of KoGuan School of Law, has been elected a member of the Academia Europaea. This honor reflects the international academic community's high recognition of his academic achievements and demonstrates his extensive influence in international arbitration, comparative law and Chinese law research.

Professor Chen currently serves as Vice Dean and Chair Professor of International Arbitration and Chinese Law at Durham University School of Law, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the International Commercial Expert Committee of the Supreme People's Court, and works as an arbitrator and mediator at numerous international arbitration institutions. He has long engaged in research on international arbitration, cross-jurisdictional legal issues and Chinese law. He has made substantial achievements in promoting Sino-foreign legal exchanges and bridging theoretical research and practical application, possessing profound academic attainments and abundant practical experience.

Based on national strategic needs, KoGuan School of Law continuously advances the development of foreign-related rule of law and deepens exchanges and cooperation with prestigious academic institutions and scholars at home and abroad. As a distinguished visiting professor, Professor Chen actively participates in the school's teaching and research activities, and plays an important role in facilitating international academic exchanges and supporting the development of foreign-related rule of law.

In the future, the school will build upon existing international cooperation foundations, leverage the strength of high-level faculty in teaching, research and academic exchanges, and further enhance research and talent training in the field of foreign-related rule of law.

Introduction to the Academia Europaea

Founded in 1988, the Academia Europaea is a pan-European non-governmental academic institution covering humanities, literature and sciences. Its members are distinguished scientists and scholars dedicated to the progress of learning, education and scientific research.

The academy boasts more than 5,500 members, among whom 88 are Nobel laureates, some admitted before receiving the award. Members are top experts across physical sciences and engineering, life sciences and medicine, mathematics, humanities and literature, social and cognitive sciences, economics, law and other disciplines.

Membership requires peer nomination, strict academic appraisal and qualification review to confirm scholars' academic excellence and prominent status in respective fields, with final approval granted by the academy council.
