On September 1, 2023, Professor Volker Roeben, Dean of the Durham Law School, along with Professor Chen Lei, paid a visit to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, KoGuan School of Law. They were warmly welcomed by Professor Peng Chengxin, Dean of KoGuan School of Law, as well as Professor Guo Yanjun, Professor Li Jian, Professor Hu Jiaxiang, Associate Professor He Juan, and Associate Professor Wang Jie.

Professor Peng Chengxin extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Durham Law School and engaged in in-depth discussions regarding academic exchanges, student interactions, collaborative research, and expressed hope for further cooperation between the two institutions. He also looked forward to deepening their collaboration based on the foundation of the existing cooperation agreement.

Peng Chengxin emphasized that KoGuan School of Law is one of the fastest-growing and most internationally-oriented law schools in China. He pledged to continue encouraging students to become a strong force in advancing the rule of law on a global level. He hoped that Durham Law School would continue to support KoGuan Law School in implementing its program for training foreign-related legal talents, thereby enhancing the quality of education in this field.

Durham Law School expressed high appreciation for the achievements of KoGuan School of Law in talent cultivation and academic research. They also expressed their willingness and expectations to further expand the scope of cooperation between the two institutions.
