On 25 February, SJTU's KoGuan School of Law's Dean was announced in conference room 202 of the Xuhui campus's Leo KoGuan Law Building. Attending the conference was Gu Feng (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SJTU), Zhou Cheng (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission) and Guo Fei, alongside all of the KoGuan School of Law's leaders and faculty members.

The meeting was chaired by Guo Fei. Guo Fei read out the decision of SJTU to appoint Peng Chengxin as Dean and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the KoGuan School of Law.

Peng Chengxin made a speech on his appointment. He expressed his gratitude for SJTU and the faculty for their training and trust, and said he will lead the faculty and students to a new heights in respect to faculty construction, scientific research, training talent and social services. Peng Chengxin expressed his commitment to cultivating more high-quality legal talent possessing both moral and legal skills, and—through promoting the development of first-class law disciplines and colleges—will forge toward building a world-class law school.

Wang Houji, Secretary of the Party Committee of KoGuan School of Law, spoke on behalf of the leadership team, expressing appreciation for SJTU for the University's long-term care and support in the Law School's development, and the efforts and contributions made by preceding teams. Wang Houji spoke to the future, and will work hand-in-hand with Dean Peng Chengxin in accelerating the establishment of a world-class university and contribute to the strength of KoGuan School of Law.

Zhou Cheng expressed his sincere congratulations for Peng Chengxin's appointment, and expressed his affirmation of the tremendous developments achieved under the leadership of Zheng Chengliang, Ji Weidong, Kong Xiangjun, and looks forward to the future developments being built upon the Law School's strong foundations.

Gu Feng made an important speech on behalf of SJTU. He highly affirmed the achievements under the leadership of preceeeing deans, congratulated Peng Chengxin. Gu Feng put forward several requirements for the KoGuan School of Law's future developments. First, continue to strengthen the construction of first-class disciplines. Second, continuously improve the quality of talent training. Third, further strengthen the construction of new interdisciplinary legal studies. Fourth, strengthen the construction of grass-root party organizations and promote an environment of unity.
