Participants:

SJTU international students, elderly residents of the center, community residents, and local volunteer merchants

Event Objectives:

To bring warmth and care to elderly residents from both the community and international students.

To promote intercultural exchange and integration among people from diverse backgrounds.

To enhance the sense of happiness among senior residents and foster a warm, inclusive community atmosphere.

Event Schedule:

1. Opening Session (2:00 – 2:10 PM)

Check-in for international students, community residents, and volunteer merchants

Brief introduction to the event

2. Introduction and Tour of the Elderly Care Center (2:10 – 2:30 PM)

Staff from the Xujiahui Elderly Care Center will introduce the facility, answer questions, and interact with participants.

3. Interactive Activities (2:30 – 3:50 PM)

International students will engage in conversations with elderly residents, showcase talents, and play games (specific activities may vary based on on-site conditions).

Proposed Game 1: Riddle Guessing

Prepare simple and fun riddles. Teams formed by students and residents take turns guessing. Winners will receive small prizes.

Proposed Game 2: Ping Pong Ball Transfer

Use chopsticks to transfer ping pong balls from one bowl to another. Each student-resident pair has 1 minute. The team with the highest number wins a prize.

4. Photo Moment (3:50 – 3:55 PM)

A themed photo area with Chongyang Festival and elder care props and slogans will be set up for commemorative group photos with students, seniors, and staff.

5. Group Photo and Closing (3:55 – 4:00 PM)

Group photo in front of the center or at the activity site to capture a meaningful memory.

6. Volunteer Haircut Service (3:30 – 4:30 PM)

A volunteer hairdresser will provide free haircuts to elderly residents at a designated area on the 2nd floor of the Xujiahui Elderly Care Center.
