Georgetown University Law School visited our law school

On the afternoon of November 7th, 2017, Prof. William M. Treanor, Dean of Georgetown University Law School, Prof. Tom Kellogg, director of Center for Asian Law Studies and Justin Swinsick, director of the Graduate Admissions Office, visited our law school. The delegation of Georgetown Law School first carried out a vivid enrollment propaganda lecture for our students, the theme of which is the legal education system and legal practice in the United States. Some postgraduates, undergraduates and foreign students took part in the propaganda activities.

In the course of the preaching presentation, Ji Weid ong, Dean of KoGuan School of Law, Prof. Xu Jingde and Associate Prof. Xu Xiaobing warmly received guests from Georgetown Law School in the VIP lounge of Law School. President Ji first introduced the general situation of our college to guests from aspects of student size, professional setting, academic research, student exchange and internationalization projects. He commented favourably the past cooperation between KoGuan School of Law and Georgetown Law School and expressed his intentions of continuing to strengthen cooperation with Georgetown University. Dean William M. Treanor expressed his gratitude to Dean Ji Weidong and responded to the basic situation of Georgetown Law School, including student size, faculty, curriculum and dominant disciplines.

Then, Dean Ji Weidong conducted an exploration on the feasibility of cooperation based on the current cooperation model between our school and other universities with Professor William M. Treanor, focusing on an undergraduate program for master's degree and short-term doctor-study exchange programs. Prof. William M. Treanor and Professor Tom Kellogg respectively referred to the teaching and research status of the United States Constitution, intellectual property law and international law in Georgetown University Law School. Prof. Ji Weidong made an explanation of the situation in relevant fields of our school and discussed the possibility of future cooperation in teaching and research between the two parties. After the successful conclusion of the talks, both parties exchanged souvenirs and took a group photo.
