Overview

The Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law (ICAL), founded in 2002, is one of the leading research centers in the field in China. The ICAL applies the law-in-action approach to various legal issues and tries to perfect the legal system through solid empirical studies. Our research strengths include, but are not limited to, the following areas: legal framework for regional cooperation, urbanization and law, city planning law, legislation, anti-discrimination law, etc.

Our People

Prof. YE Bifeng

Prof. YE is a leading scholar on Chinese Administrative Law. He is currently the Vice Chairman of the China Administrative Law Association.

Prof. XU Xianghua

Prof. XU is leading expert on legislation in China. She has constantly advised Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress and its Standing Committee on legislative issues.

Prof. ZHU Mang

Prof. ZHU is known for his empirical research on Chinese Administrative Law. He is currently conducting researches on urban law. Prof. ZHU is also the director of ICAL.

Associate Prof. GUO Yanjun

Prof. GUO graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law. Her work is primarily focusing on issues related to gender equality.

Associate Prof. WANG Bin

Prof. WANG graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University Law School. His main research interest is anti-discrimination law.

Associate Prof. LIN Yan

Prof. LIN graduated from University of Wisconsin Law School. He conducts researches on both Chinese Constitutional Law and Comparative Constitutionalism.

Associate Prof. HE Yuan

Prof. HE graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University Law School. His main research interest is the legal framework for regional cooperation.
