Professor Hu Jiaxiang was invited to visit Cambridge University and delivered a speech

At the invitation of Gonville & Caius College and Center of Rising Powers, Professor Hu Jiaxiang from KoGuan School of Law of Shanghai Jiao Tong University paid a friendly visit to Cambridge University on February 15-17, 2017, who also given an academic report entitled "From SEZs to FTZs: An Evolutionary Change for China's Policy to Attract Foreign Investment." Professor Hu Jiaxiang first introduced the Special Economic Zone in more than 30 years ago as a starting point and introduced China's foreign investment law at the beginning of reform and opening up. Then, taking China's accession to the WTO as a turning point, he introduced in detail the major adjustments in China's foreign trade and investment policies and their legal basis and deep-seated social reasons behind it, and in particular the impact and significance of the ongoing free trade zone strategy in China today on China's deepening economic and political reforms and its full integration into the world economic integration.

Dozens of teachers and students attending the lecture come from law schools, Department of Economics, Department of politics and other units of the Cambridge University. Before the end of the lecture, Professor Hu Jiaxiang answered questions on many issues.

During his visit, Prof. Hu Jiaxiang also visited the famous Lauterpacht Research Center for International Law and made extensive discussions with the members of the center on the cooperation between the two parties and reached many consensuses.
