On August 30, 2011, KoGuan Law entered into educational cooperation agreements with Cornell University Law School (Cornell Law). The agreements are signed by Cornell Law Dean Stewart J. Schwab and KoGuan Law Dean Ji Weidong and provide for student exchange, faculty exchange, the academic and research collaboration, summer program, as well as law library cooperation between the two law schools.

Cornell Law is a leading US law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) program, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) program and a Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.) program. The two law schools started the official contact from March 2010, when the official delegation of KoGuan Law led by Dean Ji visited Cornell Law. Finding their strengths and interests to be complementary, the two institutions entered into discussions concerning mutually-beneficial cooperative programs. In June 2010, Cornell Law Associate Dean Barbara Holden-Smith visited KoGuan Law. These visits have eventually led to the conclusion of the agreements between the two law schools.

The educational cooperation agreements will greatly enhance the collaboration between KoGuan Law and Cornell Law. The two institutions are committed to support and facilitate educational and research exchanges. Faculty members of both schools will be encouraged to collaborate in a broad range of projects, such as conferences and joint research and writing projects. Both law schools and their law librarians will undertake to provide mutual support for the development of the partner law school’s library collection.
