KoGuan Law School has decided to formally launch the innovative "Dual LLB/LLM Special Class" program for KoGuan undergraduate law students this year in the coming fall semester. The new program will go hand in hand with the other new program that will be launched in the coming fall semester, the LLM Program in Chinese Law for foreign law students and legal professionals. The students in the two new programs may take some common courses taught in English and thus have the opportunity of social intercourse both in and outside the classroom.

On April 28, Dean Ji Weidong made an introduction of the "Dual LLB/LLM Special Class" program to all aligible KoGuan undergraduate law students. Dean Ji first summarised the recent development of KoGuan Law School. He then pointed out the gap between China's real need in high quality legal professionals who can handle foreign and international legal issues and China's legal education status, particularly the job hunting difficulty faced by law graduates in China. This explains why KoGuan has pioneered this legal education reform in China and underscores the significance of launching the new "Dual LLB/LLM Special Class" program. To emphacise the importance of this new program, Dean Ji will serve as the faculty adviser for the first special class, the Special Class of 2010.

Vice Dean Wang Xianlin described in detail the policy background, student selection process, and the education model for the special class. Assistant Dean Yang Li explained the faculty members involved in the special class and the specially designed internship program.
