The Jessup team of SJTU KoGuan Law School participated in the Eighth Chinese National Round for Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition between March 1st and 5th in Beijing. The KoGuan team eventually ranked 15th among 34 teams from all over China and won the Third Prize of Memorial for Respondent. Team member Liu Yanting (graduate law student) won the Best Oralist (ranked number 10). Other team members are Li Xianping (graduate law student), Hua Jun (graduate law student), Xin Chenhao (Junior law student) and Xu Mengshan (sophomore law student). This is the 3rd time KoGuan Law School sends its team to compete in the Chinese National Round.
 
The KoGuan team was in fact the winning team throughout the first round competition and defeated all four competing teams from Wuhan University, Fudan University, Peking University, and Tianjin University. However, the total score was not high enough to let the KoGuan team advance to the eliminating round.
 
Four Chinese teams advanced to compete in the international final round in Washington. They are teams from Shenzhen University (Champion), Renmin University of China (Runner-up), China University of Political Science and Law, and Beijing Foreign Language University.
