Lecture Series held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University: "Knowledge of Peripheral Maritime Diplomacy"

On November 18th, a lecture on the "Knowledge of Peripheral Maritime Diplomacy" co-sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the China Ocean Development Foundation was held in the Oriental Hall of the KoGuan School of Law at Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Professor Wu Shicun, President of the National Institute for South China Sea Studies and Chairman of Board of Directors of China-Southeast Asia Research Center on the South China Sea, Jiang Sixian, Dean of China Institute for Urban Governance of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and former Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wang Houji, Party Secretary of KoGuan School of Law, and heads of relevant departments and schools and student representatives attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Professor Xue Guifang from KoGuan School of Law.

Professor Xue Guifang first introduced Professor Wu Shicun, who has devoted himself to the study of South China Sea issues for more than 20 years. He has long been engaged in cross-disciplinary research on South China Sea history and geography, maritime delimitation, international relations, and regional security strategies, and the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and has rich theoretical and practical experience in the field of the law of the sea. Professor Wu Shicun first touched on the three core issues currently existing in the South China Sea and introduced the current situation and problems regarding the South China Sea.

During the questioning session, the students at the meeting raised relevant questions and Professor Wu Shicun responded positively to the questions. At the end of the lecture, Professor Xue Guifang made a concluding speech and once again expressed his gratitude to Professor Wu Shicun for coming. With warm applause, the lecture concluded.
