KoGuan Scholarship Winners

 

KoGuan Scholarships

KoGuan Scholarships were established by the generous donation of the Leo KoGuan Foundation of the United States in 2008. The scholarships are awarded to all category of KoGuan law students on the basis of merit. Each year 20 KoGuan law students will be awarded KoGuan Scholarships.

Profiles of 2009 KoGuan Scholarship Winners

 

LL.D. students:

ZHAO Yunfeng, born in November 1976 in Kaifeng, Henan Province, earned the Bachelor of Laws degree from Henan University in July 2001 and the Master of Laws degree from East China University of Political Science and Law in June 2006. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2006 as a LL.D. degree candidate. He focuses his research in criminal law and published ten papers in 2008.
 
 
 
XU Jian, born in November 1982 in Pujiang, Zhejiang Province, he earned the Bachelor of Laws degree from Northwest University of Political Science and Law in July 2004 and the Master of Laws degree from KoGuan Law School in March 2007. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a LL.D. degree candidate. He focuses his research in administrative law and participated in three national and ministerial research projects on administrative law. He published three papers in 2008.
 
 
CHEN Yuefeng, born in September 1977 in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, he earned the Bachelor and Master degrees of Laws from East China University of Political Science and Law in 2003 and 2007. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a LL.D. degree candidate. In 2003, he passed the Chinese Bar Exam and earned the 3rd highest score in Shanghai. He focuses his research in administrative law and published two papers in 2008.
 
 
 
CAI Guoqin, born in May 1969 in Longnan County, Jiangxi Province, earned the Master of Laws degree from Southwest University of Political Science and Law in January 1995. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2006 as a LL.D. degree candidate. Before he became a LL.D. candidate, he had been a college teacher in a local university of Guangdong Province, teaching criminal and civil procedure. He focuses his research in criminal procedure and published three papers in 2008. He has published fifteen papers during his doctorial study period. Most of his papers focus on the protection of parties' rights in criminal or civil processes.
 

LL.M. & J.M. students:

YANG Zhou, born in March 1984 in Huaian, Jiangsu Province, earned the Bachelor of Laws degree from Yangzhou University in July 2006. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a Master of Laws degree candidate. He studies economic law and published three papers in 2008.

 

 

WANG Chongheng, born in November 1984 in Taian, Shandong Province, earned the Bachelor of Engineering degree from China University of Mining and Technology in July 2006. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a Juris Master degree candidate. He studies intellectual property law and serves as the Director of the Academic Department in the Graduate Students Union of KoGuan Law School. He won SJTU "Excellent Student Leader" award in September 2008 and many other honors and awards.

 

WANG Lei, born in January 1985 in Wuwei, Anhui Province, earned the Bachelor of Laws degree from Anhui University in July 2006. He was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a Juris Master degree candidate. He serves as the monitor and the captain of basketball team for JM Class '07 and a volunteer for 2010 EXPO Shanghai. 


 

LIU Nan, born in June 1985 in Xingtai, Hebei Province, earned the Bachelor of Laws degree from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in July 2007. She was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a Master of Laws degree candidate. She studies civil and commercial law and published two papers in 2008. She have won many honors and awards.

 

LL.B. students:

YIN Xianxin, born in April 1990 in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2005 as a LL.B. degree candidate. He has won a number of scholarships and awards, such as "Provincial Merit Student" and "National Endeavourers Scholarship". He is active in public services and has been regarded as one of the most enthusiastic users of SJTU BBS.


 

YANG Yan, born in September 1987 in Shanghai and graduated from Shanghai Da Tong Midde School in July 2006, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2006 as a LL.B. degree candidate. In April 2008, she as a member of the school team helped the Law School to win the champion of the SJTU Debating Competition for the first time. Since 2004, she has been a regular volunteer in Shanghai Fourth School for the Deaf, the Sixth People's Hospital of Shanghai, and the community nursing homes. Since 2006, she has voluntarily taught two girls from poor families in weekends.

YANG Lingling, born in September 1987 in Shouguang, Shandong Province, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a LL.B. degree candidate. She is one of the top students in her class and won a number of scholarships such as the "National Endeavourers Scholarship". She has done a comparative study on "criminal reconciliation" supervised by Professor SUN Weiping. She was also an active member of the Legal English Association.

WANG Yulong, born in November 1989 in Changle, Shandong Province, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2008 as a LL.B. degree candidate. He is the monitor of his class and one of the top students. He has also been an active volunteer and organizer in many public interest activities, such as "Care for Migrant Children", "December 4th National Law Publicity Day". 
 

 

Kuang Yu, born in June 1988 in Shunde, Guangdong Province and graduated from Zhongshan Memorial Middle School in June 2006, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2006 as a LL.B. degree candidate. She won the 1st Prize in National High School Student Chemistry Competition in 2005. She has been an active volunteer in many public interest activities such as Shanghai International Special Olympics Games in 1997 and won the "Outstanding Volunteer" award. She has also been to the USA as a member of SJTU Students' Chorus.

Hua Jun, born in October 1987 in Longyou County, Zhejiang Province and graduated from Xikou Middle School in June 2005, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2005 as a LL.B. degree candidate. As a member of the KoGuan Law School team, she participated in the fifth "Lilv Cup" National Moot Court Competition in 2007 and helped the Law School win the second place. She has also been an active volunteer in many public interest activities and won twice the Ministry of Education's State Scholarships.

 

HU Xiyan, born in August 1988 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a LL.B. degree candidate. She has founded “Fayuan”, now the Law School newsletter and served as the editor-in-chief for the first four issues. She has been an active volunteer in many public interest activities, such as helping a primary school student with her study from April to October in 2008.

 

 

HE Tingcai, born in November 1986 in Meishan, Sichuan Province, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2006 as a LL.B. degree candidate. He is the monitor of his class and has been an active volunteer for many public interest activities. For example, he helped collect 4,400 RMB and donated to the desert region in Shanxi Province in March 2008. He has won a number of scholarships and awards, such as "SJTU A Scholarship", the "Excellent Student" award in 2008.

 

 

HE Mudan, born in July 1988 in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province and graduated from Yuyao Middle School in July 2007, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2007 as a LL.B. degree candidate. She has been an active volunteer in various public interest activities. In September 2008, she became the team leader of the Law School's Youth Volunteer Sevice Team. She won SJTU "Excellent Student Leader" award in September 2008. In March of 2009, her research project "copyright infringement in cyberspace" was funded by Shanghai Innovative Program for Undergraduates. The program was launched by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission in 2007.

 

CHEN Dandan, born in November 1987 in Shangyu, Zhejiang Province and graduated from Zhejiang Chunhui Middle School in June 2006, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2006 as a LL.B. degree candidate. She has won a number of scholarships and awards such as State Scholarships from the Ministry of Education. She has been an active volunteer in many public interest activities and a student journalist for SJTU Newspaper. 

 

CAO Tiantian, born in January 1987 in Weifang, Shandong province and graduated from Anqiu No. 4 Middle School, was admitted to KoGuan Law School in September 2005 as a LL.B. degree candidate. She won SJTU B Scholarship in 2008 and has been an active volunteer in a number of public interest activities such as "Shanghai Intelletucal Property Protection Awareness Week".
